Winter Vacation Highlights

Winter vacation was a marathon of travel with many adventures.  All in all, I spent 36 days on the run between Korea, The Philippines, Germany, Netherlands, England, and America.  Here are some highlights:

PHILIPPINES:

NETHERLANDS/ GERMANY:

ENGLAND:

January Teacher Hike

Before vacation, I spent a free day hiking with some of my fellow teachers.  It was a perfect day in January.

Skiing in South Korea

Skiing is a very big sport here in South Korea.  It was recently announced that South Korea will host the 2018 winter Olympics.  My friends and I went skiing in mid December.  It was very crowded, but very worthwhile.

Jagalchi Fish Market

In Busan, there is a very famous fish market named Jagalchi.  It was quite a site with every type of fish possible.  There even was whale meat!

Puffer fish

While by the coast, I took it upon myself to eat some fresh Puffer fish soup.  Puffer fish is the 2nd most poisonous invertebrate in the world.  The chefs who cook it need a special license.  It was delicious, very mild like a Tilapia.

Teacher Field Trip

In late November, all of the teachers got together to take a trip.  It is a great bonding experience for everyone.  This year the teachers decided to go to Busan.  There we enjoyed the sights and the food.  We visited the city, a temple, a fish market, the aquarium, and even took a small cruise.  It was a lot of fun.

The trip took about 3 hours by bus.  Along the way we stopped and enjoyed some of the sights, including a museum for local petroglyphs.
